This is our interpretation of the “Type II” jacket that Levi’s released in 1953. Slightly longer in the body and less boxy than the original Type II, this Iron Heart version is constructed from our 18oz indigo warp/indigo weft selvedge denim and sewn together with super-strong poly/cotton constructional stitching.
All measurements are specific to this product. The best way to determine the size you need is to find a similar item that fits you well, then measure the same way we do (see "How We Measure" tab) and compare with the measurements on the table below. Actual measurements for the same Iron Heart item/tag size can vary somewhat so if a specific dimension is important to you (for example arm length) please ask us to check this before we ship by adding a note to your order. Measurements for raw denim garments are pre-soak (allowance must be made for shrinkage).
Indigo/Indigo 18oz Selvedge Denim - Face
• Lightly sanforized
• Right hand twill
• Indigo rope dyed warp and weft
When new, fairly stiff and slightly slubby. Because we have used indigo warp and weft the reverse of the fabric is the same colour as the face. As the yarns are rope dyed, wear exposes the white core of the cotton yarns giving lovely contrast fades.
